Overseas Guests

Flights

We recommend that our overseas guests fly into Auckland International Airport, and drive to Waihi from there.
The drive from Auckland to Waihi should take you around two hours.
Hire Cars

Whenever we hire cars in New Zealand, we use Go Rentals. They have really good prices and offer an excellent service for pick up and drop off at Auckland International Airport.

Public Transport

If you don't want to hire a car or drive yourself, you can take the Naked Bus.
It leaves directly from Auckland International Airport and will drop you at Waihi Beach. More information here.

Campervan Hire

In case you want to hire a campervan for your trip, we can recommend this website, which will help you to find the best deals on hire: http://campervanhiresalefinder.co.nz/

On our accommodation page, you can find links to a couple of Waihi Holiday Camps, which have campervan sites for hire.

What to Pack

Wedges or lawn friendly shoes for the ladies for our garden wedding.

An umbrella in case it rains (it does rain a lot in NZ).

Something warm - the high temperature in Waihi in November is usually only around 20-22 degrees, so it is a good idea to have a warm jacket or cardigan to wear in the evening.

Attractions

Waihi is located on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, roughly midway between Auckland and Rotorua and very close to the stunning Coromandel coast, so there are plenty of  exciting things to see if you want to extend your stay.
